MoJ Certified Translation Services in Thailand — iVC

International document translation has three primary certification frameworks that clients should understand before choosing: MoJ Certified Translation (Thailand), NAATI Certified Translation (Australia), and Notarized Translation (certified by a Notary Public). Each carries different legal authority, geographic acceptance, and pricing.

MoJ Certified is appropriate for documents used in Thailand, submitted to Thai courts, Thai government agencies, or used in any of the 126 Hague Apostille Convention member states (including USA, UK, most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc.). It is the lowest-cost option at THB 500/page and up.

NAATI Certified is mandatory for Australian visa applications (Subclass 500, 482, 189, 190, 491, 600, etc.) and New Zealand immigration — the Department of Home Affairs explicitly accepts only NAATI Certified Translators. Pricing is roughly 2× MoJ at THB 1,300-2,500/page.

Notarized Translation involves a Notary Public attesting to the translator's signature and identity — but does not directly certify content accuracy. It suits documents requiring signature attestation in front of witnesses, such as Affidavits, Statutory Declarations, and Powers of Attorney.

We sequence the certifications correctly per each destination authority's protocol.

Since December 22, 2024, Thailand officially joined the Hague Apostille Convention — dramatically simplifying document legalization for foreign use. The old MFA + Embassy two-step has collapsed into a single MFA Apostille step for all 126 member states.

The correct legalization sequence is: (1) Obtain originals from Thai government (marriage certificate, birth certificate, household registration, Police Clearance, etc.), (2) Translate via iVC's MoJ Certified Translator, (3) Submit original + MoJ translation to MFA's Department of Consular Affairs, (4) Receive Apostille on the same certificate (steps 3-4 take 2-3 business days combined).

Non-Hague countries — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, mainland China, Vietnam (pre-July 2025) — still require an additional Embassy Legalization step. After MFA processing, documents go to the destination country's embassy in Thailand for further certification. Embassy fees: THB 1,800-2,600/doc; processing service: THB 5,000-12,000.
