NAATI certified translation for Australia
In short
Australian government agencies commonly require translations produced by a translator certified by NAATI (the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters). The certification is personal to the translator and is evidenced by their NAATI stamp and certification number on the translation.
Because the requirement is about the translator's credential rather than about the document, a translation certified in Thailand by a non-NAATI translator will not satisfy an agency that specifies NAATI, however accurate it is.
Check what the specific agency asks for. Requirements differ between visa applications, skills assessments, university admissions and licensing bodies, and some accept translations by an appropriately qualified translator outside Australia in defined circumstances.
