Legal and contract translation
In short
Contracts, pleadings, corporate resolutions and court documents demand terminology discipline rather than fluency. Defined terms must be rendered identically everywhere they appear, and structural elements — clause numbering, cross-references, schedules — must survive intact.
The working method that matters is the term base: defined terms, party names, statutory references and product names are fixed at the start and applied consistently across the whole document set, including later amendments.
Where a bilingual contract will be signed, the prevailing-language clause should be settled before translation, because it determines how much interpretive latitude the translation can take and how the two versions will be compared later.

Watch out
Translating a draft that is still changing wastes the review budget — freeze the text first where possible.
