How long does a divorce in Thailand take?

A divorce by mutual consent registered at a district office can be completed in a single appointment once the documents and agreement are ready. A contested divorce goes through the court and its duration depends on the court's schedule and the issues in dispute.
Where children or property outside Thailand are involved, the negotiated agreement usually takes longer than the registration itself.
