Can we register a marriage in Thailand while on a tourist visa?
Short answer
Immigration status and civil registration are separate matters, and district offices register marriages on the basis of the civil documents rather than the visa category. The practical constraint is time: the embassy affirmation, translation and legalisation chain must be completed while you are lawfully in the country.
Plan the chain backwards from your departure date. Embassy appointment availability is the step most likely to slip.
If the marriage will support a later visa application abroad, check that destination's requirements before the wedding, because some require specific evidence gathered from the start.
