Do I need a separate Thai will for assets in Thailand?

Short answer

It is not legally required, but it is usually the practical choice. A Thai will drafted to the formal requirements of the Civil and Commercial Code and covering only Thai-situs assets avoids the translation, legalisation and evidential steps a foreign will attracts.

Where you have both, the revocation clauses must be drafted so that each will covers only its own jurisdiction and neither cancels the other.

Whichever route you choose, tell your executor where the original is kept — an untraceable original creates the same problem as no will at all.
