Remote and video interpreting
In short
Remote interpreting over video works well for commercial meetings, internal investigations, insurer calls and follow-up medical consultations. Whether a court, district office or embassy will accept a remote feed is decided case by case — get that confirmation in writing before you plan around it.
Audio quality drives accuracy. Headsets rather than laptop microphones, one speaker at a time, and a moderator who manages the queue will do more for the outcome than any platform choice. For consecutive remote work, agree a hand-signal or chat convention so the interpreter can request a repeat without derailing the discussion.
Remote sessions also need a document plan. Anything the participants will read on screen should reach the interpreter beforehand, since screen-shared text is often too small to read from the interpreter's window and cannot be scrolled back.

- Platform, meeting link and time zone of every participant
- Expected duration and the number of speakers
- Agenda and any document that will be discussed on screen
- Whether the session will be recorded, and who holds the recording
Watch out
If the session may be used in evidence later, confirm the recording and consent position before it starts, not afterwards.
